About Alison

I am Research Lead for Occupational Therapy and lecturer with the °µÍø½âÃÜ. Throughout my career I have integrated professional practice experience with service development and research. My occupaional therapy practice relates to working in the community, mental health services and supporting people living with dementia and thier carers.Ìý

I have an interest in community engagement, professional identity development and interprofessional working. I have expereince of working in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and volunteering in Romania.Ìý

I am co-investigator on the Elizabeth Casson Trust 2025 Research Award-funded study OT-PRIME; exploring how, why, and for whom occupational therapy works in primary care using realist methodologies

Teaching

I enjoy facilitating learning in a broad range of subjects, particularly in the area of community engagement, dementia care andÌýresearch. I am an advocate of interprofessional learning and encourage entrepreneurial practice in emerging areas for occupational therapy.Ìý

I have developed several distance learning and blended learning modules at pre and post graduate levels.Ìý
