Breaking down financial barriers for Brighter Futures

To support our students in as many ways as we can, we’re pleased to announce the return of the Brighter Futures Grants programme in partnership with Santander. Students will have the chance to win £1,000 to amplify their educational journey.
We’re giving away 10 grants to students, including undergraduates, postgraduates, part-time and full-time students. And, whilst this initiative is run in partnership with Santander, you »å´Ç²Ô’t need to bank with them to get involved.
There are no strings attached! We trust you to use the funds where most needed. From textbooks and tech upgrades, to helping with everyday expenses such as rent, bills and groceries, we’re giving you the freedom to decide how you want to invest in your education.
Entering is quick and easy; just follow the below steps and you can have your application finished in a matter of minutes:
  1. If you haven’t already, register for – a free online learning platform
  2. Follow the verification link in your confirmation email
  3. Log in and choose ‘Get Started’ to complete your entry into the Brighter Futures Grants programme. From the menu, you need to select °µÍø½âÃÜ
  4. Get your entries submitted by 11pm on Thursday, 27 November 2025.
By entering you’ll also have access to browse the Santander Open Academy website for free, on-demand learning content that can help support you in your studies.

Apply now for a £5000 Santander Scholarship 

We’ve partnered with Santander Universities to offer two £5000 scholarships to support our students during the 2025/26 academic year
This scholarship is designed to help with education-related costs – from tuition fees and course materials to accommodation and career development. It could even allow recipients to reduce or give up part-time work during their final year. 
Who can apply? 
  • Current full-time students who will begin their final year of undergraduate study in September 2026 (including those currently on a placement year) 
  • 18+, UK resident, and classified as a Home Fee Status student 
  • On track to achieve a 2:1 or higher
  • Currently working, have worked, or intend to work 16+ hours per week in a part-time job due to financial need, and not linked to their academic study 
  • No requirement to be a Santander customer.

  3. Log in, click ‘Get Started’ and complete the application form and online assessment.
