This public webinar will be hosted by
Dr Stephen Grimes and will introduce the
Cosmic Dust in the City project, which is a °µÍø½âÃÜ public engagement and citizen science initiative that invites communities to help find cosmic visitors, otherwise known as micrometeorites, at home, in schools, and in workplaces, transforming rooftops and gutters into portals to the cosmos.
The session will begin with a short presentation in which Stephen outlines the aims of the project, the scientific questions it seeks to address, and the methods used to find and study micrometeorites. The talk will be accessible to a general audience and will place micrometeorites in a broader context, including their relevance to marine science, climate change, and planetary processes.
Following the presentation, a moderated question-and-answer session will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with the speaker and discuss the project in more detail.
This webinar is open to all – not just those that have already registered as project participants.
